As excitement reaches a fever pitch across South Texas, Ricardo Castillon y La Diferenzia have delivered the perfect soundtrack for Spurs fans with the release of their new Tejano anthem, “Go Spurs Go.”

The San Antonio-based group recently unveiled the song along with an accompanying music video on YouTube, celebrating the city’s unwavering love for its hometown team as the San Antonio Spurs battle the New York Knicks in the 2026 NBA Finals.

In a statement shared with the video release, the band explained the inspiration behind the project.

“As proud San Antonians, we wanted to create something special to celebrate the team, the city, and the fans who have supported the Silver & Black through every era,” the band said.

“From the championship years to the exciting future ahead, the San Antonio Spurs have always represented heart, hard work, and a commitment to excellence. This song is our tribute to Spurs Nation and the incredible community that rallies behind our hometown team.”

The anthem pays homage to generations of Spurs fans, from those who witnessed the glory days of David Robinson, Tim Duncan, Manu Ginóbili, and Tony Parker to the newest wave of supporters rallying behind today’s squad.

“Whether you’ve been a fan since the days of David Robinson, Tim Duncan, Manu Ginóbili, and Tony Parker, or you’re part of the next generation cheering on the Spurs, this one is for you,” the band continued. “We hope this song brings a little extra energy to your game day, your watch party, or your drive around the city.”

Frontman Ricardo Castillon delivered an even more personal message directly to Spurs Nation.

“San Antonio, this is for you,” Castillon said. “For every fan who’s stood by the Silver and Black. For every voice that’s shouted ‘GO SPURS GO!’ For every generation that’s proudly represented this city.

“We wanted to capture the passion and spirit of Spurs Nation. This isn’t our song. It’s San Antonio’s song. We wrote it for YOU! Turn it up. Sing it loud. Make some noise. GO SPURS GO!”

The release arrives at a perfect moment as San Antonio finds itself in the middle of a “Race for Seis,” with the Spurs seeking the franchise’s sixth NBA championship.

The 2026 NBA Finals mark a championship rematch 27 years in the making. The last time the Spurs and Knicks met on basketball’s biggest stage was in 1999, when San Antonio captured its first NBA title and launched a dynasty that would eventually produce five championships.

Now, the Silver and Black are chasing history once again.

Led by defensive superstar Victor Wembanyama, the Spurs earned the Western Conference crown as the No. 2 seed after surviving a hard-fought seven-game series against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Meanwhile, Jalen Brunson guided the No. 3 seed New York Knicks to their first NBA Finals appearance since 1999 after an impressive playoff run that included a sweep of the Cleveland Cavaliers.

For longtime Tejano music fans, Ricardo Castillon y La Diferenzia remain one of San Antonio’s most beloved musical institutions. Rising to prominence during the 1990s, the band became known for its signature blend of infectious cumbias and heartfelt ballads, producing fan favorites such as “Linda Chaparrita,” “Mundo Sin Guitarras,” and “Si Lo Quieres.”

Decades later, the group continues to connect with audiences while proudly representing its hometown roots. With “Go Spurs Go,” Ricardo Castillon y La Diferenzia have once again united music and community, delivering an anthem that captures the pride, passion, and championship dreams of Spurs Nation.

As the city rallies behind the Silver and Black, one thing is certain: San Antonio now has a new soundtrack for the Finals.

Go Spurs Go.
