Palomino Fest returned to Uvalde, Texas, after being canceled the past two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As usual, Grammy winners Los Palominos performed for the finale of the annual Labor Day weekend event, which donated $25,000 to the victims and families of the Robb Elementary school shooting in May.
During their performance, Los Palominos held a 21-second moment of silence to pay tribute to the 21 people who were lost during the school shooting on May 24, 2022. “May we never forget their names,” said Los Palominos.
Since Palomino Fest began in 1996, Los Palominos have been strong supporters of education, donating funds for scholarships to many students at Southwest Texas Junior College in Uvalde. This year, the event donated those funds to victims of the school shooting.
“The families need to understand that we stand beside you behind you and in front of you to help you with your struggles today and tomorrow,” stated Los Palominos. The band presented a $25,000.00 check to all the families that were affected at Robb Elementary for any kind of assistance they may need.
“We will continue to help,” said James Arreola, singer and bajo sexto player for Los Palominos. ”We will all unite, we are Uvalde strong and we are going to promise to help out all of the families as much as we can.”

Los Palominos celebrated 30 years in 2021 and are working on a 30th anniversary album, which was pushed back due to the pandemic and former frontman Johnny Arreola leaving the group last year for ministry and record Christian music.
