MISSION, TX — Tejano icon Shelly Lares discusses her Top Female Artist Award at the 5th annual My Tejano Awards, her plans for the future after retiring from performing at the end of the year, and much more with Tejano Nation at the Mission Event Center in Mission, Texas, on October 9.

“Little Miss Dynamite” announced last year that she would no longer perform after she concludes her current LMD Legacy Tour at the end of 2022 to concentrate on nursing school. She will continue her work as a producer, songwriter, and musician while mentoring the next generation of Tejano stars.

The MTAs also recognized Lares for her contribution to the Tejano industry during her 40-year career with another trophy.
