Gracing stages all over the world, the Tejano and Latin Pop star has cemented herself as the top entertainer in Latin music from accolades by the Grammys, Premios Los Nuestro, the Billboard Latin Music Awards, and the Latin Grammys just to name a few. But in this interview with Tejano Country artist Veronique Medrano, Peña provides a look at her career through her eyes and in her own words, catches up with fans on the trajectory of her career since her rise to fame at 11 years of age to now, and discusses her much-anticipated return to music, after stints on Telemundo’s reality programs “Asi Se Baila” and “Top Chef VIP”.

Peña began her career at the age of 12 in the mid-1990s recording four albums with Q Productions as Jennifer Y Los Jetz, eventually signing with Univision Music Group recording four albums, receiving three Grammy nominations and one Latin Grammy nomination. She was recognized five times as Female Entertainer of the Year by the Tejano Music Awards and inducted into the Tejano ROOTS Hall of Fame in 2018. Peña ventured into film, appearing in MTV’s All You’ve Got with singer Ciara in 2006. She also appeared in the 2007 film Amexicano.
Pena’s most recent performance was in 2022 for The National Museum of Mexican Art Selena Tribute Concert.
