LAS VEGAS, NV — Vegas Tejano Takeover 2022 was filled with four days of friends, family, and Tejano fans from all over the world enjoying Tejano music and culture. Many fans extended their stay in Sin City as the iconic David Lee Garza Y Los Musicales was closing out the inaugural Squeezebox Ultra Music Bash on Sunday night.

Cezar Martinez became the lead vocalist for Los Musicales in November 2014. The Robstown, Texas native is the latest crooner to be added to the list of singers for the legendary band. He has made each song distinctively his own and has been accepted by all the Tejano fans since day one.

The group’s latest album, Solamente Tu, released earlier this year, features the hit singles “Hasta El Dia,” the album’s title track, and the newest single “Otros Planes.” Solamente Tu is filled with rancheras, cumbias, and a song from former lead vocalist Emilio Navaira.

What is the most challenging aspect for Martinez as lead vocalist for one of the most iconic bands in the Tejano that has been recording hits since 1978?

“It’s learning every song that I recorded,” chuckled Martinez. “It’s always good, we record songs and I have four albums now…myself as the latest and current singer, I kind of have to learn from each and every singer, each and every album.”

Recently a new release “La Embarcacion” from the talented, next-gen musicians LA 45, featuring David Lee Garza and Cezar Martinez hit the airwaves. The single has been well received and features a classic Tejano sound.

Music isn’t the only thing Martinez is passionate about, he is part of the community in Robstown as a former member of the city council and current member of the school board. Knowing his commitment to his hometown and Tejano music is inspiring. We look forward to enjoying more concerts and hearing more music from Cezar Martinez and David Lee Garza Y Los Musicales.
