Tejano Nation, the leading online source for Tejano music, news, and culture, had the opportunity to chat with some of the winners, nominees, performers, and presenters at the 43rd annual Tejano Music Awards held at the Boeing Center at Tech Port on Saturday night (Oct. 21).
One of the highlights of the night was the interview with Laura Denisse, the lead singer of Laura Denisse y Los Brillantes, a Nashville-based band that blends Tejano, Tex-Mex, and Regional Mexican genres. Laura Denisse, who is originally from Monterrey, Mexico, spoke with Tejano Nation‘s Sylvia Carrizales in a lively Spanglish mix and shared her excitement about being at her first TMA event.
Laura Denisse y Los Brillantes were nominated for two awards: Best New Female Artist and Best New Group. Although they did not win in either category, they delivered a powerful performance that showcased their unique and versatile style. Laura Denisse’s voice is strong and expressive, and she commands the stage with her charisma and energy.
Laura Denisse y Los Brillantes are making waves in the music industry with their original sound and vision. They were recently featured on Good Morning America’s digital platform in a story about Latinos in country music. They are definitely a group to watch out for in the future.
